Minnesota Bantam Elite League

Growing up in south Florida, he started playing travel roller and ice hockey at the age of 6.  After playing roller hockey for 4 years, Avi decided to focus solely on ice hockey.  Over the next 7 years he played for the Coral Springs Coyotes organization, his team won 6 state championships and was a southeast district finalist in 3 of those years.  Avi also played for Team Florida AAA spring program as well as Team Southeast over those years. 

Following one season of collegiate hockey at Florida Atlantic University, Avi decided to take his passion for hockey to a full time position.  He started as a skills instructor running hockey camps across the US and continues to give private hockey lessons for children and young adults of all ages and skill levels.  

Five years ago, Avi took his coaching to a higher level by becoming a Head Coach in the Florida Jr. Panthers organization, as well as joining forces with Selects Hockey.  While with Selects, Avi had the responsibility of program coordinator and director of player and skill development at the South Florida training branch.  

Currently, Avi manages and coaches Elite AAA teams for Durham Hockey Institute at many of the best spring/summer tournaments across the US and Canada.

Coaching History:

• 2009-10 - Head Coach 2001 AAA Florida Jr. Panthers / Assistant Coach Peewee A Florida Jr. Panthers (State Finalists)
• 2010-11 - Head Coach 2001 AAA Florida Jr. Panthers (played up in Squirt AA and won state championship)
• 2011-12 - Head Coach 2001 AAA Team Florida
• 2012-13 – Head Coach Florida Alliance AAA 2001
• 2013-14 – Co-Head Coach Minnetonka Skippers Bantam AA

Avi is a Level 4 certified coach by USA Hockey.
